Mobile Phones Are Not Just For Calls
At every new launch we are surprised with the functions that become available on phones. There are phones now that act more like small Personal Computers with some having Hard Drives with a whopping 3 Gigabytes of storage space. There is so much to choose from you will not know where to start if you’re choosing a mobile phone to do more than just make a call. If you are in unfamiliar surrounding you can use your phone to navigate your way home. We do not need that old address book beside the phone they store 100′s and 1000′s of contacts.
One of the functions I like using a lot is the calendar function I use it to schedule all my appointments. I will never miss another meeting as I set them to alarm. Plug in your head phones and your mobile now becomes a radio. Jot down your important notes with some mobiles acting like a notepad. I have not got this function, but I have always used my message area to create a message and simply save it instead of sending it. When you consider that the mobile phone is fast becoming the single piece of gadget to do everything on. They are more advanced functions that are definitely becoming the norm. The old feature I enjoy which has saved me a countless number of times, is the alarm function. I set it to wake me up every morning I do not need to rely on a clock with a battery that runs out. With some mobiles you can set your alarm to repeat at different times 7 days a week, perfect if you if you work irregular hours.

Music player: Well it’s been here for some tie and is on the up and up, download and play all you favourite tracks, while doing a wide range of music related activities.
Digital camera: Point-and-click! Capturing still pictures saved on the phone that maybe transferred to computers and others.
Video recorder: Videos cameras are now becoming a good feature of a phone and the latest models can record over an hour of video.
Audio recorder: You can make short conversational notes for reminders.
Multimedia messaging: This function is a more advanced version of SMS (text) with pictures that can be shared.
Gaming platform: Games are big everywhere and Mobile games have become the same. This can only improve as technology improves in this area.
WiFi and Bluetooth: The ability to transfer file to and from your moblie to other mobile phones.
Email client: You can connect to Email server services to send and receive email. While Blackberry offers the best so far in my opinion others are getting better.
Web client: It is increasingly possible to browse the Internet and while web sites do not look all that great it is possible to access any web site.
TV: Networks like EDGE are promoting a growing number of channels for you mobile.
Documents viewer: Popular MS-Office file formats are becoming more possible to view on your phone (cell phone).
Computer adjunct: PDA’s may becoming a thing of the past with the fact that phones are doing a lot of the jobs first associated with them.
Wallet: The mobile are being used to pay for purchases like a credit or debit card and alike.
Bar-code readers: Phones are able to read bar codes that can have very interesting applications in retail.
Some mobiles out there have a lot of gimmicks, but if you strip all the hype and research the functions available you maybe presently surprised.

How do I get my phone numbers that are saved on my sim card to appear in my blackberry address book?
I just recently transferred the sim card from my cell phone into my blackberry and for some reason, the phone numbers are not showing up. Can anyone advise how to get access to these numbers without having to manually input them all again?
